Introducing the Four Pillar Fitness Insights Podcast
Four Pillar Fitness Insights is expanding.
For the past year, I’ve used the Insights section of 4PFitness.com to share practical, science-backed guidance on strength, mobility, nutrition, recovery, longevity, and the trends shaping the fitness world.
Now I’m adding another way to explore those ideas.
The Four Pillar Fitness Insights Podcast is officially live, and the first episode, Why I Built the Four Pillars of Fitness, is available now on Substack.
Why a Podcast?
Some ideas are better explained in conversation.
My written Insights articles will continue, but the podcast gives me room to be more personal, share more of what I see as a coach, and talk through the real-world problems people face when trying to stay healthy and fit.
In the first episode, I explain why I created the Four Pillar Fitness system in the first place.
After spending 25 years in the corporate world, I eventually moved into what I think of as Career 2.0 and became a fitness and nutrition coach. Once I started working with clients, one thing became clear very quickly.
People weren’t lacking fitness information. They were overwhelmed by it.
Social media, podcasts, YouTube, diet trends, supplements, influencers, and constantly changing fitness advice were giving people more information than ever, but not necessarily a clearer idea of what to do.
I wanted to simplify that.
That became the foundation of Four Pillar Fitness:
Strength. Mobility. Nutrition. Recovery.
The goal isn’t to chase every fitness trend. It’s to build a practical system around the areas that matter most for staying strong, moving well, improving body composition, recovering effectively, and maintaining physical capability as the years go by.
Episode 1: Why I Built the Four Pillars of Fitness
In the first episode, I talk about that mission and why I believe it becomes even more important as we move through our 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond.
Experience and wisdom may increase with age, but so can aches, physical limitations, loss of muscle, and unwanted body fat if we stop paying attention to our health.
I also share several real coaching examples that helped shape my approach. Different clients may have very different goals and circumstances, but the same lesson comes up again and again: effort works better when it has direction.

Want to Explore the Four Pillars in More Detail?
The podcast is a companion to the written Four Pillar Fitness Insights, not a replacement for them.
If you want a deeper breakdown of the system itself, read my original article, The Four Pillars of Fitness: A Simple System for Strength, Mobility, Nutrition, and Recovery. It explains how each pillar supports the others and why a complete fitness plan needs more than random workouts or short-term diets.

Four Pillar Fitness Insights Is Now on Substack
I’ve also launched Four Pillar Fitness Insights on Substack as the publishing home for the podcast, full articles, shorter Notes, videos, and additional coaching insights.
The main Four Pillar Fitness website isn’t going anywhere. 4PFitness.com remains the home of the Four Pillar Fitness brand, online coaching, the book, resources, and the complete Insights library.
Substack gives me another way to bring the educational side of Four Pillar Fitness together and make it easier for readers and listeners to receive new content directly by email.
If you enjoy the Insights articles and want to follow the podcast as it grows, I’d love to have you join me there.
